It is proposed to implement a traffic management system involving an intelligent traffic signal control system (MOVA) to the junctions specified. The majority of these junctions are mini roundabouts, which currently provide poor pedestrian crossing facilitates. It is acknowledged that the junctions concerned are of an “Urban Nature” i.e. a higher frequency of pedestrian movements, which need to be addressed. It is anticipated that a MOVA system will strike the balance between traffic and pedestrian movement, resulting in an improved junction performance and better urban environment. Requirements. Donegal County Council are seeking quotations from firms specializing in Traffic Light Control Systems for the design, supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of a Mova Traffic Light Control System at the two mini roundabout junctions on each side of the Oldtown Roundabout , the mini roundabout junction at the bottom of Lower Main Street and the Tee junction at the bottom of the Convent / Back Road. The traffic control system should have vehicle actuation for approaching vehicles in all directions.
