National Roads Authority
NRA term contract for the collection of road condition and skidding resistance data. The National Roads Authority is inviting interested parties to submit proposals for the supply of high quality road condition data for the purpose of strategically managing the condition of the national road network in the Republic of Ireland. The National Roads Authority requires that a road condition survey is carried out and processed for the entire national road network. The data required by the National Roads Authority includes but is not limited to 3 dimensional spatial co-ordinates, longitudinal profile, transverse profile, edge of the road profile, surface texture, digital video, road geometry and skidding resistance. It would be envisaged that the survey would be undertaken at the prevailing traffic speed between the months of June and August. The degree of accuracy for each data item is set out in the Specification to be provided in respect of term contract for the collection of road condition data. The survey may require traffic management in accordance with the traffic signs manual. In order to comply with health and safety legislation, the service provider may be required to act as PSDP and PSCS.
