This research project should inform policy around the need for screening for Chlamydia tachomatis infection in Ireland. It should identify the optimal model for testing and retesting for Chlamydia trachomatis at regular intervals in both men and women who are attending primary care or other settings in Ireland. It should examine the feasibility, acceptability and cost of applying this model from both a service provider and a patient perspective. Finally, the model identified must include the delivery of a sex education message to the client.
