FรS, the Training and Employment Authority was established in January 1988 under the Labour Services Act 1987. Its functions include the operation of training and employment programmes, the provision of an employment/recruitment service and an advisory and support service for business. FรS has a staff complement of almost 2,200 people and a network of offices and training centres throughout the country.FAS have 20 Training Centres (TC) spread nationally. Typically each TC consists of a number of classrooms equipped with PCs and a Server.Support should include the following: 1. Offer 'Hot-Line' support to end users and a response time of 4 hours for urgent on-site support. Provide an 8 hour response time for non-critical issues. Provide a thorough bi-monthly system check, and report to regional IT Support. Provide ongoing software maintenance, which would include OS service packs, patches, hot-fixes etc. Maintain effective Anti-virus and Malicious software controls. Provide technical support to FรS staff who need assistance installing new software or hardware, or are having problems with existing hardware or software installations. Typical troubleshooting provided should include;- Network connectivity issues- E-mail services- Driver conflicts- Printing problems- Internet software issues- Anti-virus updates- Problematic Machines or Peripheral Devices. Provide hardware support to service all Desktop Computers and Servers (out of manufacturers warranty) on the Training LAN and in the Test Centre. Provide LAN monitoring to ensure network is running to peak performance at all times. Liaise with hardware manufacturers on hardware which is still in warranty. Log all issues and provide job records for billing and reporting purposes. Negotiate with service providers for the best options that will meet the on-going development needs of the Training Centre. Meet with Regional IT Support on a regular basis to discuss IT support issues.
