ESB Power Generation

Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: PG108T676 - Erne LV Light Heat & Power Upgrade. The contract is for a complete rewire of all building electrical services including light, heat, power and communications at ESB Erne Generating Stations. It will include the design, supply, installation and commissioning of these services. Prospective tenderers should have experience of design, supply, installation and commissioning of electrical services coupled with experience of rewiring functioning buildings and a detailed knowledge of the latest energy efficient systems. Erne Generating Stations consists of two distinct power stations, Cathaleens Fall and Cliff. Both are located approximately four miles apart on the river Erne at Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal. Erne Stations has being generating electricity for over sixty years and the majority of original wiring and fixtures are still in place. This wiring now requires replacing and is seen as an opportunity to dramatically increase the buildings efficiencies. The works shall incorporate the rewiring of the admin block, two power houses, two dam walls and a number of outlying buildings as well as outside lighting. The control and power circuits of the main generators will not form part of this rewire. During the rewire both stations will continue to operate as functioning power stations. The tenderer will be required to complete all civil works associated with the rewire, in particular some civil works will be required in the admin block to retain its architectural features with the foyer and main stairs being a particularly aesthetically sensitive area.
