Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: PG108T557 - West Offaly Power Air Preheater Replacement Project. The contract is for the supply and installation of two banks of air preheater tubes and their associated inserts, tube-sheets and baffles in the second pass of a CFB Steam Boiler (output 150 MWe) and which is fired primarily with Peat. The bundles consist of 5133 tubes in total, each with a length of 5 416 mm. The total length of tubing material involved is approx 28 km. Due to high levels of tube wall wastage the tube material for the replacement tube bundles may be upgraded from the existing carbon steel to a stainless steel. Prospective tenderers should have experience of the fabrication and installation of both carbon steel and stainless steel air heater tube bundles. Tubes are supported at either end and at mid-length by tubeลพฮฒโฌยงsheets. It is proposed that sections of tube banks be prefabricated and installed in modules.
