Iarnród Éireann-Irish Rail will be inviting tenders for the provision of rail grinding services to correct rail-head defects using multiple controlled grinding head mounted on a powered rail vehicle. Bidders are asked to note that the track gauge in Ireland is 1602 mm. The service involves the provision of vehicle, equipment, consumables, and trained operators to grind the rail on defined parts of the network, to monitor the work, and to produce the information on the performance in an agreed format.
