Iarnrod Eireann–Irish Rail
Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: Glounthaune to Midleton Railway - Construction Stage. Iarnród Éireann-Irish Rail is proposing to re-open the currently disused Glounthaune to Midleton Railway (GMR) and is now looking to appoint a contractor to undertake the following works: The construction of two new unmanned train stations at Midleton and Carrigtwohill, including car parks, lifts and footbridges. The construction of three new over-bridges to replace level crossings The construction of one new under-bridge to replace a level crossing The replacement of the existing bridge deck at the Owenacurra River The upgrading of parapets walls and containment at seven existing bridges The demolition of two existing accommodation underpasses The installation of new boundary treatment works along the rail corridor The installation of a new track drainage system, including refurbishment of existing culverts and construction of new culverts.
