Galway City Council (GCC) has recently purchased a new office block at the Crown Square development in Galway City. Situated at the junction of Joyce’s Road and Monivea Road, Crown Square will offer a vibrant campus featuring five office buildings, Cafés, and hotel all designed around a public plaza on 12.65 acres of landscaped grounds. The development will also include extensive public space including outdoor seating, landscaped plaza’s, performance space, exercise areas and a running / walking track. Staff can enjoy a better work-life balance with sustainable workspace, attractive residences, lifestyle conveniences and a culture of hospitality for which Galway is renowned. The GCC New Office Building a four storey 70,000 sq.ft building at completed shell and core stage (ready for internal fit out). There are two basement floors which make up part of the common underground carpark. Some space in the basement areas will form part of the GCC dedicated space with the office building. The office buildings at Crown Square are designed to minimise environmental impact for future generations. As part of the design process, particular emphasis has been placed on using sustainable energy sources without compromising on performance. The buildings will be required to achieve LEED Gold Compliance, NZEB and have an A2 Energy Rating. These measures will all assist occupants in attaining Carbon Neutrality as part of their Corporate Social Responsibilities. Crown Square also benefits from extensive public transport links, EV Car Charging Ports, Bike Parking and Staff welfare areas. The development is located just over 5 minutes from the motorway reducing travel times to the capital and regional cities around Ireland.
