The Department of Enterprise Tourism and Employment
The role of the Programme Director will comprise of: working directly with the Co-Chairs of ‘Balance for Better Business’ (B4BB) to plan and implement the initiative for the next 12-24 months. B4BB is an independent, business-led Review Group established by the Irish Government to improve gender balance in senior business leadership in Ireland. The Review Group is supported by a wider ‘Advisory Group’, which is representative of a wider cross section of business organisations and other interested parties. The Review Group is supported in its work by the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.

The ‘Balance for Better Business (B4BB)’ initiative was launched by Government in July 2018. Balance for Better Business is an independent, business-led Review Group established by the Government to improve gender balance in senior business leadership in Ireland by ensuring more women play a role at board level and in senior leadership teams. The mandate of the Balance for Better Business Review Group is to monitor and assess the representation of women in company governance and senior leadership positions, and to identify measures to increase that representation, including through the development and monitoring of progressive targets.
