The Irish Prison Service, on behalf of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, invites expressions of interest from candidates who wish to be considered for shortlisting for the project. The works will involve the construction of a new prison accommodation block at Wheatfield Prison, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, Ireland. It is envisaged that the new accommodation block will house approx. 176 prisoners in primarily single cell accommodation. The project will be procured on a client - led design and build basis. An approved layout will be issued at tender stage and the successful tenderer will be required to develop this layout to construction stage. Appropriate mechanical works will be a feature of the project to ensure that all cells are to be fitted with in - cell sanitation and shower facilities and which will meet approved fire /health and safety requirements. 4 Appropriate electrical works will require to be carried out to ensure that standared features of Irish Prison accommodation can be installed e.g. television facilities, automated locking etc. This project is to be funded by the Irish Government and it will be necessary for the successful tenderer to adhere to a design brief set out by the Irish Prison Service. Following assessment of the prequalification submissions, a request for tenders document for the project will be issued to between 5 and 8 tenderers.
