Mk4 intercar data jumper replacement project. Iarnród Éireann are seeking to engage with professionals in the field of rolling stock inter-car jumper cabling to develop a technical solution to ongoing problems with the intercar jumpering arrangement on its fleet of 'Mk4' rolling stock. This contract will involve the selection, design, approval and supply of upgraded inter car jumper cables and sockets over our existing installation on our CAF MK4 carriages. These 3 connectors carry Digital, Communications and CCTV signals. The preference is for cam lock type. No specialist tooling should be needed to make or break connectors. Consideration can be given to integrating all 3 connectors in to one. The standard to cover the jumpers would be EN60077: Electrical Equipment on Rolling Stock: General Service Conditions and General Rules. In addition to this requirement, IÉ may also seek a complete turnkey solution which would also include the installation of equipment.
