Orthodontic clinicians expect an orthodontic lab to provide high quality work on a continuous basis, with fast turnaround time (same day returns requested as necessary) and the lab must provide clear communication channels. All labs must comply with the requirements set out in Annex 1 of the Medical Device Directive (93/42/EEX) and should clearly state such compliance on lab dockets returned to the orthodontic department.
