The National Disease Control Centre (NDCC) is the division of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) who are responsible for maintaining contingency planning and disease preparedness for the prevention and management of all notifiable exotic animal disease outbreaks (e.g. Avian Influenza, rabies etc.) in the Republic of Ireland. As part of their remit, the NDCC is committed to providing its staff and contractors with a working environment that is as safe as possible during exotic animal disease outbreaks. To reach this commitment, the Department employs the services of an external expert on Occupational Health. The role of this expert is both advisory and practical. This contract is for the provision of occupational health services, specifically: the provision of vaccination clinics, assistance at occupational health workshops, management and supply of anti-viral medication, and the provision of medical advice to the Department.
