Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Tender for the Supply of Network Equipment. Tenders are sought for the supply of Network Equipment and Maintenance to University College Dublin. There is an estimated requirement by UCD Computing Services for approximately 100 x 48 port layer 2 access switches on an equipment upgrade/replacement schedule per year as well as associated layer 3 distribution and core switches. The University is also rolling out WLAN access with an estimated requirement for rollout/replacement of 50 units per year. However, further UCD capital projects may have additional requirements. Approximate expenditure with UCD's preferred supplier over the last two years was as follows: Sept 2004 - 2005 EUR 500 000; Sept 2003 - 2004 EUR 600 000; This period included some significant capital projects and may not be indicative of future expenditure. The equipment is broken into four lots as follows: Lot 1: Core Switches; Lot 2: Distribution Switches; Lot 3: Access Switches; Lot 4: WLAN Access Points. Applicants are invited to tender for one or more lots. The lots tendered must be clearly indicated on the envelope and front page of tender submission.
