Minor Building and Carpentry Works
Children's Health Ireland (CHI)
The objective of this competition is to invite proposals from suitably qualified organisations / individuals for the provision of minor building and carpentry works to Children's Health Ireland (CHI) as a whole, including the National Children’s Hospital Ireland, CHI at Crumlin, CHI at Temple Street, CHI at Connolly and CHI at Tallaght. CHI will commence operational commissioning of the National Children’s Hospital Ireland in 2026. It is an objective of CHI to have a suitable qualified and experienced healthcare carpentry service engaged to support this commissioning effort. Should this tender process be completed in a timely fashion, CHI may drawdown on services as required for this project. The successful contractor will also be approved under this tendering process to undertake works at any of the other CHI sites through the duration of the framework. The framework duration is 36 months with the option to extend for one year maximum. The company / individual selected will be responsible for the supply of minor works and carpentry materials and any other supplies required to carry out the task. Minor works and carpentry materials must be supplied at competitive rates and will be invoiced separately to CHI. CHI reserves the right to price check the materials against market prices elsewhere and purchase directly if it is in our interest to do so. Materials supplied must match all applicable standards. “Minor building and carpentry works" refers to small, relatively straight forward construction and carpentry projects, albeit, for this tender, these projects must be undertaken in the context of a challenging healthcare environment. CHI’s typical package of minor capital would range from €2,000 to €25,000 approximately per project. Examples might include toilet/bathroom/shower room refurbishment or wet room development, office reconfiguration/wall cladding. Minor roof works, office moves, infrastructure maintenance wall pinning/down pipe replacement etc. It is intended to award a contract to each of the top 4 bidders, who will form the panel/framework. Any job valued at €25,000 or under will automatically go to the bidder ranked number 1 on the framework. CHI retain the right to include other framework members in projects valued at €25,000 or less. Work exceeding this value will be priced between the 4 bidders and awarded to the lowest bid. In the event of the preferred bidder being unable to take on a project, a cascade system will apply to bidder 2, then bidder 3, then bidder 4 in that order. In the event that bids received via the cascade model are deemed poor value for money or exceed the budget available, CHI have the right to extend the request for quotation to the wider market.
