The proposed contract is for a modernisation of the Shannon Airport Weather Radar involving replacement of (i)analogue receiver(with digital receiver) (ii) RVP based Signal processor and (iii) VME based control Processor with new Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) units. Met Éireann require the modernisation to extend the life of the radar system by a further 10 years.
