Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Appointment of Legal Advisors (2 Lots). The Irish Sports Council (ISC) was established on 1.7.1999 under the Irish Sports Council Act 1999 and is a statutory body comprising of nine major divisions: The Anti-Doping Unit; Public Relations; Research; Finance; High Performance; Local Sports Partnerships; National Governing Bodies; National Trails Office and the Irish Institute of Sport. ISC wishes to appoint legal advisors to advise the Council, its executives and Board in exercising their statutory functions, responsibilities and powers in carrying out their functions. It is intended to appoint a legal advisor for each of two Lots as follows: Lot 1 - Corporate and Employment Law. Lot 2 - Anti-doping Law. The appointment in respect of each Lot will be for a period of up to four years, subject to annual review and approval of the ISC Board. Please note that the scope of this procurement process excludes work in relation to legal cases or matters arising prior to the commencement of these contracts.
