Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Tender for Liquid handling Workstation Plate Reader and safety Enclosure. The new equipment will be used for a variety of different repetitive laboratory tasks that would otherwise require the services of several highly skilled technical scientists. These tasks demand high levels of precision in dispensing minute volumes of liquids, repetition containment reproducibility and Bio-safety. Shannon ABC requires a Biomek FXp or equivalent, Plate Reader and Bigneat or equivalent Enclosure offering a capability that far exceeds that achievable by technical staff both in terms of through-put, accuracy, timing, reproducibility and safety. Liquid handling and reading functions are required to provide a wide range of tasks conducted in 96-well plates at Shannon ABC. These tasks include titration, distribution of reagents over plates, and incubation for precise times prior to reading. Quote for options for decontaminating/sterilising the equipment (Formaldehyde, Peroxide and UV). The equipment will be used for a wide range of screening, toxicity testing, assaying, bio-functional testing and characterisation of the products currently under investigation, as well as those envisaged for the future.
