The instruments must have a small footprint and operate through an integrated touchscreen or through a direct LAN connection with DAFM PCs; the instruments must allow multiplexing. The instruments must have interchangeable blocks to accommodate 96 and 384 well plates. The real time thermocyclers must support reactions with volumes ranging from 5 to 30ul (depending on the block) and must have a fast reaction option and the blocks must include up to 6 independent temperature zones.
