LA2514C- SETU- RFT for the Supply of a Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detector System

Education Procurement Service EPS

South East Technological University (SETU), request the supply of Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detector System for use in the development of a national Quantum Communications Infrastructure, IrelandQCI. The vision of IrelandQCI is to build a national quantum communication network that will support an innovative quantum technology ecosystem that will enable and drive the transition from research-based experimental quantum systems and devices to commercialization-ready quantum communication products, solutions and services and lay the ground work for International networks. The SNSPD will play a central role in IrelandQCI and will be used both for lab-based (table-top) experimentation as well as extending the reach of COTS QKD equipment. The SNSPD will require high efficiencies as some experiments will operate over 100km distances. Furthermore, some experiments require a very low jitter and dark counts, 3 class of detector specification A, B, and C have been requested to cover all requirements. The SNSPD MUST have a minimum of 8 channels and SHOULD be expandable to at least 16 channels. 8 detectors are required, with 3 variations in their specification. Furthermore, photon-counting equipment (TCSPC / time-taggers) MUST be provided for at least 8 channels and SHOULD be extendable to 16 channels. Lastly, all the cooling technology required for system operation MUST be supplied.

Deadline

The time limit for receipt of tenders was 2023-07-31. The procurement was published on 2023-06-30.
