Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Fermentation Equipment (2 Lots). ITT Dublin has secured funding under the Enterprise Ireland (EI) sponsored ‘Research Equipment for Institutes of Technology Scheme 2008’ to support the development of its Bioprocessing capability. ITT Dublin is home to the National Pharmaceutical Education Centre through which it has a pilot-scale Bioprocessing suite. The main Bioprocessing components of this suite are 10 & 100 L stirred tank fermenters, a media preparation tank, a harvest tank plus downstream filtration and centrifugation equipment. The Applied Pharmaceutical Research Group (APRG) within ITT Dublin intends to add further capabilities with respect to the process capabilities at laboratory scale which will allow optimisation of process parameters and subsequently selection of suitable candidates for scale up in the pilot plant. This will enhance the development of further industrial links and collaborations in the Bioprocessing area. The multistage fermentation system proposed is suitable for cell culture and microbial cells. This tender is divided into 2 Lots as follows: Lot 1 – Fermentation Systems, Off-Gas Analysis and Optical Density Probe. Lot 2 – Shaking Incubator. Tenders may be submitted for one or both Lots.
