Bord Na Mona
Printer Standardisation Project 2010. Bord na Mona invites expressions of interest from Experienced Service/Managed Service Providers for the provision of a Networked Printing/Scanning/Copying and Faxing Service throughout the company's multiple locations in Ireland. It is expected that proposed solutions will be compatible with Bord na Mona's existing ICT infrastructure yet technologically innovative, secure and user-friendly, and configured to optimise both efficiency and environmental considerations. Key objectives of the project include : — Implementation of a standardised solution across the organisation that will replace the existing printer/scanner/copier/fax infrastructure and be easy to maintain & manage, — The solution will be user friendly and standard-e.g. common infrastructure for users across the organisation, — The solution will provide cost metrics to allow Bord na Mona accurately measure its print/copy/fax/scan costs, — The solution will lend itself well to Bord na Mona's 'Green' policy i.e. power usage, paper usage, ink usage, consumables etc. Bord na Mona currently have a mix of desk side, multi function, dot matrix, and label printers, scanners and faxes, at over 30 sites. Bord na Mona's WAN is a mix of modern high speed infrastructure but also includes lower speed ISDN connections in some sites. Standard deskside software is Microsoft based, with Network Servers a mix of Microsoft, Novell Netware, and Linux. Bord na Mona have also employed Citrix and many applications print from Citrix, Linux, and Oracle.'.
