Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Nominated Sub-Contractor - Windows Supply and Installation. Athlone Institute of Technology proposes to construct a new Engineering Informatics building and to this end we wish to procure a Windows Sub-contractor. The main Building Contract has not yet been awarded. The proposed Engineering/Informatics building is a long retangular shape comprising 10 922 m2 including three stories of accommodations 14 m high on the front elevation and two stories 7,5 m high at the rear elevation and there is a sloping roof over the building reflecting this. The rectangular shape of the building is made up of six individual blocks separated by five spaces; the spaces are open to the rear of the building with 'atria' spaces to the front block; three of these atria spaces are enclosed and glazed in their front section; two of the atria spaces are open (external) and planted. The Windows Sub-contract involves the following: 1. To provide working drawings calculations to the satisfaction of the design team. The supply and manufacture of powder-coated aluminium double-glazed door and window units of farious sizes and curtain walling elements, all incorporating thermal break, permanent ventilation, ironmongery, opening sections and integrated fixed or moving louvre sections. The windows sub-contract also includes selected steel doors and windows to incorporate louvres, 1/2 and 1 hour glazing as required. All glazing to be Part L compliant.
