Commission for Energy Regulation
Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Designation of an Electrical Safety Supervisory Body or Bodies. Pursuant to Section 9c of the Energy Regulation Act 1999, as inserted by the Electricity (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006, it is a function of the Commission for Energy Regulation (the Commission) to regulate the activities of electrical contractors with respect to safety. The purpose of this procurement process is to designate one or more persons as an Electrical Safety Supervisory Body or Bodies in accordance with Section 9d of the Energy Regulation Act 1999, as inserted by the Electricity (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006. The principal functions of an Electrical Safety Supervisory Body shall include, without limitation, the registration of electrical contractors and, the inspection, auditing and monitoring of electrical contractors and their works and activities. For a more complete description of the role of an ESSB, please see Section 3 of the Commission for Energy Regulation's request for expressions of interest in the process for the designation of an Electrical Safety Supervisory Body or Bodies' ("EOI") which will be provided to candidates expressing an interest in participation in this process, and the documentation referred to in section 6.4 below.
