Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: Ireland-UK Fibre Optic Cable Operation and Commercialisation. This is a Services Concession contract. This procedure is not covered by the procurement directives. The objective of this process is to identify companies which would be prepared to enter into agreements regarding the commissioning, operation and commercialisation of the proposed EirGrid commercial optical fibre cable (CFOC) to be constructed between Ireland and the UK. Persons interested in participating in the award of this concession are invited to register with Eirgrid and to request a copy of the Request For Proposals. Companies will be asked to provide details of the commercial arrangements into which they would be prepared to enter. Based on an evaluation by EirGrid of the information presented Eirgrid may award the contract to the candidate which offers the most economically advantageous tender to Eirgrid or may enter into a dialogue with one or more candidates and refine its requirements before inviting further offers and entering negotiations.
