The contract will comprise the construction of final capping layers and the tie in of these layers with the capping system installed on the part of the landfill that was capped in 2005 under a separate contract. The approximate area of the landfill to be capped under this contract is 267 000 m2. The works also involves the construction of a supplementary storm water and leachate drainage network, modifications to the existing leachate network and all other ancillary works associated with the site's remediation.
