Kildare Water Strategy, Phases 1A/B - Castlewarden to Ballygoran Pipeline & Reservoir. The Castlewarden to Ballygoran Pipeline & Reservoir Contract will involve the construction of a 20 000 m³ capacity reinforced concrete drinking water reservoir at Ballygoran (together with the construction of a pipe manifold, control and chlorine dosing building in conjunction with improvement works to the existing Ballygoran reservoirs), the laying of 13 km of 900 mm diameter trunk main, 3.83 km of 450mm diameter and 0.84 km of 300 mm diameter distribution mains and associated pipe fittings, instrumerntation and chambers. The trunk main route extends from Bishopscourt Lower, Oughterard, Co. Kildare to Ballygoran Reservoir Site at Ballygoran, Maynooth, Co. Kildare. The Ballygoran reservoir site is located northwest of Celbridge Town adjacent to the M4 Motorway.The distribution mains will be laid along the R403 regional road and along the local road between Griffinrath and Celbridge. The Contract also includes Mechanical and Electrical Works and Trenchless Technology works to be carried out by appropriate Specialists.
