Galway County Council, in partnership with Abbey Kylemore, Annagh, Ardaun, Aughrim, Ballyaneen, Ballinabanba, Ballinastaig Killamoran, Ballinduff Tullira, Ballynakill Moyard, Ballyvoneen, Barnaderg, Bullaun, Caltra Castleblakeney Ballymacward, Cappataggle, Corraneena, Carra Bullaun, Castletaylor, Clonbrock Pallas, Cloughagalla, Cloughan Castleboy, Crannagh, Doon, Gallagh, Ganty, Garrymore, Gortbeg Ballinastack, Gortnaglassa, Keelogues, Killalaghton, Killoran, Kiltiernan, Lavallyconor, Lettermullen, Lislondoon, Lisnagranchy, Menlough, Moyglass, Oatfield, Peterswell, Rathgorgin, Seehan, St Clerans, Tierneevin & Toberoe Group Water Schemes and Clonbur and Cornamona Public Supply Schemes has decided to undertake a project, the objective of which is to improve water treatment facilities for water supplies to rural areas in the county. The project involves the upgrading, operation and maintenance of their production installations for a period of 20 years. The Project will also require the rationalisation of sources and schemes. It is proposed that some of the Group Water Schemes will share a common source and water treatment plant. It is proposed that the Project will be implemented under a design/build/operate contract with one contractor.
