Tyndall National Institute, Lee Maltings, Cork. The Tyndall National Institute, located at University College Cork, Lee Maltings Complex, is an interdisciplinary basic and applied research centre at micrometre and nanometre scale. Its areas of activity comprise engineered materials and surfaces, microelectronics appplications at several scales, basic and applied photonics research and the interfaces between electronics and life sciences. The sciences are supported by groups specialising the theory and modelling. The proposed project involves the following:. New Utility building and upgrading of existing mechanical, electrical and process services. Enabling works including demolition and services diversion. Refurbishment of approx. m. of existing space and conversion to laboratories and offices. Construction of approx. m. new laboratory building to incorporate laboratories, cleanrooms, plantroom, etc. Modification and relocation of existing high-tech laboratoreis.
