Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Mary Mother of Hope National School & Castaheany Educate Together National School. Construction of two 16 Classroom 2-storey Primary Schools on two separate sites (one on each site, sites about 1 mile apart) in the Dublin 15 area, near Lucan. The schools have been designed as a load bearing masonry structure but alternative options for pre-cast concrete (or other system), with corresponding reduction in the contract period, may be offered by tenderers. As part of the pre-qualification process, in the event that alternative options are proposed, these options must be identified with supporting technical information, draft collateral warranties and proof of the necessary PI insurances for the proposed alternative options. The design of the schools is a generic repeat design developed by the Department of Education and Science. Further information on the design, including drawings, etc. is available on the Department's website http://www.education.ie, under 'School Planning/Building'. Each School comprises 16 classrooms on two levels, a large General Purposes Hall (double height) and ancillary accommodation. Total Gross Floor Area is approximately 5,000m2 (2,500m2 each school). Firms wishing to express an interest in the following work areas should apply: i) General building work incorporating all specialist work not identified below, ii) Specialist sub-contract work for electrical installation, iii) Specialist sub-contract work for mechanical installation, iv) Specialist sub-contract work for lift installation.
