Construction work for houses

Dublin City Council

Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Multiple Framework Agreement for adaptations and alterations to Dublin City Council dwellings. Dublin City Council carries out alterations and extensions to properties to meet with the special needs of the occupants. Works include adapting properties to meet medical and mobility needs of families including the provision of grab rails, access ramps, shower installations and ground floor extensions. Bedroom extensions may be constructed on grounds of overcrowding. The scope of the work also includes the complete refurbishment of vacant dwellings [voids]. Currently Dublin City Council completes circa 50 extensions, 240 bath/shower substitutions and undertakes remedial work on 90 vacant dwellings [voids] annually. In order to deliver the above it is the intention to establish 6 separate framework agreements for the following works, awarded in lots. Lot 1 โ€“ Construction of extensions and associated works in the North City generally. Lot 2 โ€“ Construction of extensions and associated works in the South City generally. Lot 3 โ€“ Shower/ Bath substitutions in the North City generally. Lot 4 โ€“ Shower/ Bath substitutions in the South City generally. Lot 5 โ€“ Work to vacant dwellings [voids] in the North City generally. Lot 6 โ€“ Work to vacant dwellings [voids] in the South City generally. The Framework Agreements will be in operation for 3 years with the option to extend for an additional year. It is anticipated that at least 5 contractors will be admitted to each framework. As and when work arises contracts will be awarded following mini competitions among all the contractors admitted into the framework.
