Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: N8/N25 Dunkettle Interchange Improvement Scheme. The National Road Authority (the “Contracting Authority”) is responsible for the provision of a safe and efficient network of national roads in Ireland. As part of this, it has been identified that the N8/N25 Dunkettle Interchange on the outskirts of Cork City is operating over capacity at peak traffic times, with significant traffic queueing evident during the morning and evening peaks. Accordingly, the Contracting Authority wishes to carry out improvement works to the N8/N25 Dunkettle Interchange to improve the free flow of traffic through the interchange. To support this, the Contracting Authority is seeking to engage Engineering and Environmental Consultants to identify appropriate improvement solutions for the interchange, develop the engineering design of the chosen solution, carry out an environmental impact assessment, up to and including the preparation of an environmental impact statement, for the chosen solution and prepare all Compulsory Purchase Order / Motorway Order documentation required for the chosen solution, to ensure a successful statutory process.
