Shannon Heritage requests tenders for the lease of Castle Lane Tavern situated at Nicholas Street in the City of Limerick adjacent to the historic King John's Castle. Shannon Heritage is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shannon Development and has responsibility for the management and development of day visitor and evening entertainment products in the Shannon Region on a fully commercial basis. Castle Lane Tavern should be managed, maintained and presented in a manner not inconsistent with King John's Castle which is a National Monument as well as an important regional tourist attraction. Shannon Heritage was one of the first companies in Ireland to develop and run heritage attractions and Medieval Castle entertainments, and has since grown to become a market leader in the tourism industry both at home and internationally. Shannon Heritage’s portfolio includes 7 day visitor sites and 4 evening entertainment products attracting 625 000 visitors from all over the world. This visitor mix includes tourists, families, senior citizens, incentive and corporate groups, social and community groups and school groups. Castle Lane Tavern is an architect-designed, recreated medieval actual working public house, with a Seven Day Publican's On Licence on the River Shannon in the heart of the Historic Irish Town and immediately adjacent to King John's Castle.
