Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: Charles Institute of Dermatology (incorporating Systems Biology Ireland). The contract works will comprise the construction of new facilities to accommodate post-graduate research laboratories and associated support and ancillary accommodation of approx 4,260 sq.m including an enclosed roof top plant area. Support facilities will include two cold rooms, communal learning exchange areas, conference suite, and office accommodation. The new building will be linked to two adjacent buildings as follows: 1) to the Conway Institute (research based activities) at Ground and First Floor Level, incorporating remodelling works to the internal areas and the reinstatement of existing facades. to the Health Sciences Building (lecture theatres, cafรฉ, etc) at first floor level via a double height link. The works incorporate remodelling to the internal areas, temporary installations for makeup ventilation and alterations to existing facades. Works to the Health Science Building shall also incorporate alteration of an existing restaurant facility to create a temporary restaurant for the duration of the contract and a remodelling of localised faรงade areas and final reconfiguration of the restaurant facility. Enabling works, principally service diversions and the demolitions (incl. an existing stairwell that is part of the Conway Institute), will be completed prior to the commencement of the main works.
