Re-development of Galway Racecourse - Works Contract. Galway Racecourse hosts both national hunt and flat racing fixtures, stands on approximately 160 acres and is situated some three miles from Galway City Centre. In order to provide state of the art facilities for race goers, Galway Race Committee (GRC) proposes to construct a new grandstand and building to replace an existing grandstand on a site of approximately 1 400 m². This notice relates to the pre-qualification of Main and Sub-Contractors for the whole project. The new grandstand will replace an existing grandstand, which will be demolished at an appropriate time taking into account the needs associated with the Galway Racing Festival held at the racecourse each July. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Main and Sub-Contractors who wish to be considered for inclusion on the tender lists from which tenders will be invited for the following lots (contractors should refer to the attached Questionnaire for a description of the Lots): Lot 1. Main Contractor; Lot 2. Mechanical; Lot 3. Electrical / IT Data Services; Lot 4. Steel Frame (Prefabrication and Erection); Lot 5. Glazed Curtain Walling; Lot 6. Solid Curtain Walling; Lot 7. Roof Cladding; Lot 8. Architectural Metalwork; Lot 9. Joinery; Lot 10. Pre-cast Concrete; Lot 11. Lifts and Escalators; Lot 12. Furniture (loose/fixed); Lot 13. Kitchen Equipment (Supply and installation); It is anticipated that all work will be completed within approximately 16 months of contract award.
