Building construction work

University College Dublin

Sutherland School of Law - specialists contracts. University College Dublin is issuing this suitability assessment questionnaire inviting expressions of interest as the first stage of a two-stage process under the restricted procedure. The purpose of the first stage is to obtain information from applicants to determine their suitability on the basis of financial standing, technical competence and capability and relevant experience to carry out the project. Please note this is not a tender document. It is envisaged that up to the top 8 scoring specialists for each lot from the first stage of the restricted procedure, who have met all the pass/fail criteria and minimum requirements, will be listed on a panel which will be provided to all candidates tendering for the Main Works Contract. The successful Main Contractor will then have the option to either choose one of the specialists from this panel or to propose their own specialist (i.e. a specialist not listed in the tender documents). Any proposed specialist that is not listed on the panel as a result of this process will be required to submit a response to this questionnaire, meeting all pass/fail and minimum requirements and be required to score higher in the qualitative assessment than the lowest scoring candidate on the panel. It should be emphasised that there will be no formal award of contract between UCD and each successful Specialist. The Sutherland School of Law is a landmark new-build project, the site for which is located south east of the existing Quinn School of Business on the main Belfield campus of University College Dublin. The main building works for the scheme involve approximately 6,100 square metres of new space over three floors comprising lecture theatres, classrooms, administration/office space, a moot court area with supporting preparation areas, atrium/circulation and break-out spaces with a ground floor café and supporting plant space. The Lots currently being advertised are as follows: Lot 1: Stone facade specialist. Curtain walling specialist. Electrical specialist. Mechanical specialist. Lift specialist. Applicants should also note the main works contract has been previously advertised on www.etenders.gov.ie (published 17.6.2010).
