It is a commercial semi-state body that took over the functions carried out previously by the Irish Horseracing Authority (IHA) since 1994. Horse Racing Ireland is responsible for the administration and control of horse racing in Ireland. It is responsible for Tote Ireland Ltd, Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Ltd and a number of racecourses including Leopardstown Race Course and Navan Race Course. In order to provide accommodation for this administration function HRI now wishes to construct a new purpose-built headquarter office building of approximately 30,000 sq ft, which is part single and part two storey. External works such as construction of car parking facilities etc. will also be required. Additional to the administrative function, subsidiary activities under Tote Ireland Ltd. (including a telecall service centre), Irish Thoroughbred Marketing and the Racecourse Division central functions will also be operated from this building. The location of the headquarter building will be in Ballymany, Newbridge on a site of approximately 6 acres. The project is due to be completed in early 2007. This document relates to the pre-qualification of main and subcontractors for the whole project.
