Redevelopment of major city centre site in Galway, Ireland. The contracting authority seeks to establish a framework agreement over a period of 5 years for integrated teams offering the entire range of architectural, engineering, urban planning, environmental related services and all other associated services relating to the redevelopment of a major city centre site in Galway City. This will incorporate a multi-modal public transport interchange together with significant retail, commercial and residential development on a site of 5.8 hectares. It is anticipated that at least 3 and no more than 5 fully integrated teams will be admitted to the framework agreement following the initial competitive tendering process under the restricted procedure. The initial contract will involve one and possibly two stages, i.e. stage one - the completion of a masterplanning process for approval by the contracting authority; stage two - but subject to Board approval by the contracting authority of the masterplan, the submission and achievement of full planning permission under the contract. The multi-disciplinary teams will comprise the following: architects, planning experts, civil and structural engineers, cost consultants/quantity surveyors, transport consultants, environmental-related consultants, archaeologists and property consultants. For the initial contract a single integrated team comprising the aforementioned disciplines will be appointed by the contracting authority as a single lot. It is anticipated that the masterplanning process will be completed within 4 months of contract award. In order to be considered for the tender list candidates must have a proven track record in master planning and in the realisation of major development of inner city brown field comprehensive schemes. A formal qualification questionnaire reference GRP/MP/2005 is available to download from www.etenders.gov.ie and this will be the basis upon which the tender list will be selected.
