Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: MN_705 Property Owners Protection Scheme. RPA intends to award contracts for the provision of condition surveying services to a small number of independent firms as part of a Property Owners Protection Scheme for Metro North. It is not envisaged that any damage be caused to properties during the construction of Metro North because any vibrations resulting from the underground works will be maintained within the levels set by the relevant standards. Nevertheless, in order to allay any concerns house owners may have, RPA intends to launch a Property Owners Protection Scheme for those Owners in the vicinity of any tunnelling works, underground excavations by mining or other methods and cut and cover station works for Metro North (Underground Works Zone). The premise of the Scheme is that any Owner of a house located within a radius of up to 30 metres from the edge of the Underground Works Zone (Scheme Area) may sign up to this Scheme and avail of free, independent condition surveys of their property. RPA proposes to establish a panel of 3 - 5 independent firms (Panel Surveyors) to carry out these condition surveys. The Panel Surveyors brief is to gather data pre and post construction to assist the Owner and RPA/Metro North PPP Infrastructure Contractor (InfraCo) in swift and accurate verification of any property damage claims which may be received after the Underground Works have been completed.
