Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: M8 Cashel Service Area- Archaeological Consultancy Services Contract. The Contract involves the provision of archaeological consultancy services required in advance of construction of the proposed M8 Cashel Service Area (SA), comprising, test excavations and surveys [Stage (i)]; pre-excavation services [Stage (ii)]; archaeological excavation [Stage (iii)]; post-excavation services and dissemination [Stage (iv)]. The location of the required services is on the site of the proposed SA on the east side of the M8 Motorway in the townland of Ballytarsna, 8km north of Cashel, County Tipperary, Republic of Ireland. The total area of the Lands Made Available for the Contract is approximately 12.7 hectares (9.6 ha - South site + 3.1 ha - North site). Stage (i) Services shall be carried out for a total fixed price lump sum, as tendered, with separate fixed price lump sums as tendered for any relevant Stage (i) sub-stage service. Stage (ii) Services shall be carried out on the basis of a fixed price lump sum, for each archaeological site determined by the client according to rates for square meterage for Stage (ii) as tendered. Stage (iii) Services shall be carried out on the basis of Fixed Price Lump Sums for each archaeological site, determined by the Client according to rates for Stage (iii) as tendered and in accordance with the Excavation Specification for each site. Stage (iv) Services shall proceed on the basis of agreement by the Client of proposals from the Consultant for each archaeological site excavated during earlier Stages. Stage (iv) Services shall be carried out for a fixed price lump sum based on the percentage as tendered by the Consultant for Stage (iv) Services of the outturn cost of the Stage (iii) Services for the Contract.
