Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: N5 Longford Bypass- Archaeological Consultancy Services Contract. The Contract involves the provision of archaeological consultancy services required in advance of construction of the proposed N5 Longford Bypass comprising, pre-excavation services (Stage ii); archaeological excavation (Stage iii); post-excavation services and dissemination (Stage iv) on four archaeological sites discovered during Stage (i) Archaeological Test Excavation Services carried out in 2008. The sites consist of an Iron Age smelting furnace and associated pit (Site 1); an inhumation cemetery (Site 2); an isolated pit (Site 3:) and A fulacht fiadh (Site 4). Sites 1, 2 and 3 are located in the townland of Mullagh and Site 4 is located in the townland of Aghareagh, in County Longford. Stage (ii) Services shall be carried out for a total fixed price lump sum for each archaeological site. Stage (iii) Services shall be carried out on the basis of Fixed Price Lump Sums for each archaeological site, determined by the Client according to rates for Stage (iii) as tendered and in accordance with the Excavation Specification for each site. Stage (iv) Services shall proceed on the basis of agreement by the Client of proposals from the Consultant for each archaeological site excavated during Stage (iv). Stage (iv) Services shall be carried out for a fixed price lump sum based on the percentage as tendered by the Consultant for Stage (iv) Services of the outturn cost of the Stage (iii) Services for the Contract.
