Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: NRA LiDAR Survey of National roads. Under the EU Directive 2002/49/EC relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise and also the Irish environmental Noise Regulations SI 140 of 2006, the Irish National Roads Authority (NRA) has been designated as the competent authority in preparing strategic noise maps for all national roads carrying in excess of 3 000 000 vehicle passages per year. The NRA requires the undertaking of an aerial LiDAR survey of approximately 3 115 km of the Irish national road network. It is anticipated that the survey corridor will be 1 km in width. A digital terrain model (DTM) together with building height information and 1 metre contours within the survey corridor will be the required output from the LiDAR survey.
