Design and Installation of a Wellness Room - including Sensory Pod Dromore West Digiversal Under Theme 1 Local Community Regeneration and Transformation Part of the Sligo PEACEPLUS Plan
Sligo County Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Contractor for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a fully equipped Wellness Room, including a standalone Sensory POD, to support individuals with sensory processing needs. The space will be used by children and/or adults with autism, developmental disabilities, sensory impairments, or emotional regulation needs. Purpose of the wellness room is to provide a standalone area to be available 24/7 to all members of the community with sensory issues (long or short term). The design will support all aspects and ages within the community and surrounding area. The wellness room is designed to support individuals across all age groups, providing a dedicated space for relaxation and stress relief. It offers a calming environment for young children, teenagers facing academic pressures, and has proven beneficial for individuals with dementia. This approach demonstrates a strong commitment to community well-being, inclusiveness, and mental health support. The wellness room and Sensory Pod are positioned as vital resources for relaxation, sensory regulation, and overall quality of life for a broad spectrum of users. Stress Relief and Relaxation: The room provides a calming environment for relaxation, stress relief, and decompression, addressing both everyday pressures and specific health needs. Inclusivity and Accessibility: The wellness room is intended as a 24/7 accessible space for all community members, especially those with sensory issues, ensuring support across all ages and needs. Multi-Age Support: It is designed to benefit everyone—from young children and teenagers to older adults, including those with dementia. The successful supplier will deliver a safe, durable, and engaging environment that promotes relaxation, stimulation, and therapeutic intervention. The installation will be located in an existing room (dimensions approx. 2600mm x4000mm within the Dromore West Community centre. There will be a requirement for the installation to be dynamic, engaging and educational, highlighting the Armada using modern audiovisual technology. As a separate part of this project, the room will be upgraded and modernised, to facilitate the installation of the audiovisual experience. In advance of the submission of a proposal, interested qualified parties are invited to visit the Dromore West Community Centre to view the premises and facilities at first hand. This can be done by appointment via the eTenders messaging service. Any site visits undertaken shall be conducted at the bidder’s own discretion and expense, outside the scope of this tender and without forming part of any contractual agreement.
