Irelandโ€™s Climate Action Plan 2025 seeks to set Ireland on a path to becoming a cleaner, greener, more sustainable economy and society. The Circular Economy offers rural areas such as Donegal an opportunity to identify and develop a range of viable enterprises which will provide sustainable employment, while also serving to mitigate against detrimental impacts of climate change and environmental degradation. DLDC seeks to build the capacity and skills of rural dwellers in the area of Circular Fashion to equip them with the skills to capitalise on potential employment opportunities in this sector. DLDC is seeking tenders from competent training providers for the design and delivery of a pilot 12-week Circular Fashion Training course. The course aims to equip participants with the ability to evaluate, repair, authenticate, and resell garments while critically examining the environmental and ethical considerations shaping circular retail. Learners will engage with garments through an applied understanding of design intent and construction principles, using this knowledge to inform repair decisions, value assessment, and resale strategy.
