Due to the extended programme for delivery of the New Childrenโ€™s Hospital project, a change in warehouse and storage supplier at this advanced stage of the project (when substantial completion is expected in the coming months) would as a minimum lead to significant technical and economic inconvenience and disruption to the existing warehouse and storage services. This is based on the position that a change of storage provider at this advanced stage (i) would be technically impractical and could lead to delays; (ii) could result in missed windows for delivery of key equipment leading to a degree of risk to the revised anticipated date for Substantial Completion of the project; (iii) could lead to incompatibility risks; (iv) would be more costly and time-consuming; and (v) would lead to a loss of specific infrastructure, and familiarity with the hospital project requirements that the current provider now possess. With Substantial Completion expected within the coming months, the Board is of the view that a change in temporary storage and warehousing provider at this late stage would be impractical and not viable from an economic and technical perspective.
