For the provision of the Dog Warden Service in County Donegal and for the management and operation of the dog Shelter at Glencar, Letterkenny for Donegal County Council
The successful Tenderer will be appointed by Donegal County Council as Authorised Officers for the carrying out of any aspects associated with the existing dog warden service in the County as well as management and operation of the Dog Shelter and future relevant applicable and relevant legislation. Under the provisions of the Dog Breeding Establishments Act 2010 the Local Authority is responsible for establishing and maintaining a register of dog breeding establishments situated in their functional area. The Local Authority shall agree with the Service Provider to enter these arrangements whereupon the Service Provider shall exercise on behalf of the Local Authority, functions under Section 18 and 19 of the Act according to agreed procedures. The existing Service is being taken over by Donegal County Council from the ISPCA including any responsibilities under TUPE legislation with regard to existing employees in the service.
