A Scanning Laser Doppler Vibrometer (SLDV) is a noncontact optical measurement system which is used to capture high-resolution vibration signal in the form of displacement, velocity and acceleration, and dynamic deformation data across solid surfaces. It employs laser Doppler interferometry (Doppler effect) to measure minute vibrations at a nanoscale to macroscale at wide working range of frequencies (DC to MHz). It enables precise structural modal analysis, structural health monitoring, wave propagation measurement and dynamic characterization of materials and components.
