The provision of central decontamination unit (CDU) equipment is required for a digital, state of art, new children’s hospital which is currently under construction for Children’s Health Ireland. Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) comprises the following: CHI at Crumlin, National Children’s Hospital at Tallaght, and CHI at Temple Street plus two urgent care and outpatient facilities at Connolly and Tallaght Hospitals. 1.3 The Central Decontamination Unit (CDU) is a department within the hospital that performs reprocessing on Reusable Invasive Medical Devices (RIMD’s) and other equipment in the form of washing, disinfecting, sterilisation, and other actions for subsequent use by health workers in the operating theatres and elsewhere throughout the hospital. The new facility provides an increase in CDU capacity and, additional, more efficient workflows, turnaround times and equipment is required to meet the additional surgical activity planned for the nch while caring for the environment and being economical. Hence this tender focuses on improved solutions for two of the steps in the reprocessing procedure of endoscopes.; 1) Sustainable Endoscope Channel Cleaning and Leak Detection System 2) Sustainable Endoscope Drying and Sterile Packing Solution Another important factor in relation to record keeping is that of a comprehensive traceability system that can deliver a complete electronic record of all reprocessing stages of Endoscopes and associated accessories, interface with the National Endoscopy tracking software system “ScopeTrack” and link in with CHI’s electronic healthcare record software, Epic. Consequently, state of the art sustainable, environmentally friendly equipment, less labour intensive, improved cycle times, with minimal or no chemical detergents, with minimal or no single use consumables , reduced waste is required from tender submissions to ensure the best possible service and CHI green campus vision is met. It is imperative that equipment also is, ethically supplied, robust, of high quality, safe for use, functional and reliable, reusable, has longevity of use and is an equivalent standard and specification.
