Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) is seeking competitive tenders from suitable Specialist Engineering Consultants (the Inspector) to undertake Arched Vault (AV) Structural Condition Inspections at Connolly (CY) Station assets where normal access is prohibitive to conventional inspection methodologies. The successful Applicant must be able to supply appropriately qualified personnel to undertake the inspections in line with the specification issued at ITT stage. This will include: an on-site team of Engineers to be led by a suitably experienced Civil / Structural Engineer with a minimum 5 years’ experience inspecting historic masonry structures, bridges/structures/vaults. The final reports are to be reviewed and signed off by a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer. The four individual vault systems due for inspection, forming this tender, comprise AVCY2, AVCY3, AVCY5 and AVCY6. The particular (non-exhaustive list of) project objectives are: 1. Carry out a close-up visual inspection of arches using a safe system of work in accordance with the HSA code of practice for working in a confined space and working at height. Score asset condition in accordance with IÉ standards and asset reference numbers. 2. Photos of arch asset elements to be provided in electronic format in a pre-agreed file structure to allow mass upload to IÉ’s Infrastructure Asset Management System (IAMS). 3. Succinctly describe and indicate the nature of all structural defects identified. 4. Produce drawings for each arch barrel profile highlighting extent and type of defects found (IÉ to approve template and editable file format). A sample of the reporting methodology and presentation must be agreed with IR prior to commencement of the works. 5. Map areas of water ingress with a view to tracking water source from upper levels of station. Plan layout drawings to be produced in AutoCAD to grid coordinates. 6. Compile a single all-encompassing report for each vaulted structure, satisfying the deliverables that will be outlined at ITT stage. Further specific details to the above will be provided to applicants successfully qualified to the ITT stage of this tender. The programme set on the specification will be for a 3-month period, however a 6-month contract period has been allowed for to ensure the full project is completed (under advance notification and IR permission).
